We also understand how hard it is to enjoy food again when you have difficulty swallowing and can no longer enjoy food like you used to.

PAEDIATRIC SPEECH THERAPY

Our therapists can help your child build their confidence so they can communicate more effectively. We use a variety of different techniques to help achieve your therapy goals which are unique to each individual we treat.

WHAT OUR THERAPISTS LOOK FOR:

We evaluate how your child can understand and express speech by looking at

> Receptive Language, or how your child understands speech.

> Expressive Language, the way your child expresses themselves with verbal and non-verbal actions.

> Articulation, the ability your child has to form and make specific sounds and how they process sound and distinguish and process sound.

If our therapist discovers some issues with your child’s speech then we will evaluate your child’s voice (pitch, loudness and pitch) and fluency (smoothness of speech). We may also assess feeding skills if a child is having difficulty chewing, swallowing or tolerating different consistencies.

Our therapist will explain the findings and develop a treatment plan that can be practiced at home with family members. Your child may require short intervention or long-term support depending on their needs.
